Electron Density Distribution in the Organic Superconductor (TMTSF)2AsF6.

Excellent crystals of (TMTSF)(2)AsF(6) (TMTSF, tetramethyltetraselenafulvalene) were employed to obtain x-ray diffraction data for a determination of the electron density distribution in this organic superconductor. Electron density was observed between molecules in a stack of donors of an organic metal and between certain interstack selenium atoms of these donors.

Electron Charge Density Distribution from X-ray Diffraction Study of the M-Nitrophenol Compound in the Monoclinic Form

At room temperature, the m-Nitrophenol (m-NPH) appears in two polymorphic structures: orthorhombic and monoclinic forms. In the present work, we shall focus on the monoclinic form of this compound which has a centrosymmetric structure with the space group P21/n. The molecular dipole moment has been estimated experimentally. High resolution single crystal diffraction experiment was performed at ...

Structural Dynamics in the Charge Density Wave Compound 1T-TaS2

This Diploma thesis is centered around the study of the structural dynamics in charge density wave (CDW) compounds. Owing to their quasi low dimensionality, CDWs present an ideal model system to investigate the delicate interplay between various degrees of freedom like spins, electrons, lattice, etc., common to macroscopic quantum phenomena such as high-temperature-superconductivity and colossa...

Internal Friction in Charge Density Wave (TaSe4)2 I Compound

The low frequency anelastic properties of CDW compounds near the Peierls phase transition are studied in a forced sub-resonant pendulum suitable for delicate (TaSe,), I samples. The influence of measurement parameters such as frequency, oscillation amplitude, temperature rate and low temperature cycles, are obtained. The principal effects found are : the Peierls transition, a higher temperature...

Experimental charge density from electron microscopic maps.

The charge density (CD) distribution of an atom is the difference per unit volume between the positive charge of its nucleus and the distribution of the negative charges carried by the electrons that are associated with it. The CDs of the atoms in macromolecules are responsible for their electrostatic potential (ESP) distributions, which can now be visualized using cryo-electron microscopy at h...
